Welcome to the team behind Pestonik. We’re a group of writers who research pests for a living, so you don’t have to spend hours doing it yourself.
Pestonik started because too many pest articles online are either overly technical or just plain wrong. Our job is to fix that — to take a confusing topic, like why ants suddenly show up in your kitchen every spring, and explain it in a way that actually makes sense.
When you read an article on Pestonik, you can expect a few things: plain language, no unnecessary jargon, and information that’s been checked before it’s published. If a claim can’t be backed up, we don’t publish it.
Every writer on this page focuses on a specific pest or category, which means they spend more time with that topic than a general writer would. That’s on purpose. We’d rather have someone who really knows termites write the termite guides than have one person try to cover everything.

Every article on Pestonik goes through the same basic process before it’s published:
Research first. Writers start by looking into what readers actually want to know, then check that against trusted sources like university extension offices, government agencies, and licensed pest professionals.
Accuracy checks. Before publishing, we confirm facts, spelling of scientific names, and any statistics against a reliable source. If something can’t be confirmed, it doesn’t go in the article.
Clear writing. We write in plain language on purpose. Technical terms are explained the first time they’re used, not assumed.
Regular updates. Pest information changes as new research comes out. We review our articles on a regular schedule and update them when something needs to change.
